The YPM Taster weekend is designed to allow those that are seriously thinking about going racing to experience a full weekends racing and testing without having to worry about the expense of buying all the equipment or running a bike.
It’s a sort of try it out before you commit.
This is not an experience type package, this is real racing!
If you've always wanted to try racing for real but never got round to it, think about taking our club bike out for the weekend. You get to race on the UK's premier circuits on a competitive TZR250. This is no sanitised 'Experience' weekend, you will be out there mixing it with some really great racers. Everything you will need is included in your weekend package; bike, entry fees, fuel, tech support, repairs if needed and great advice about how to get the best out of the bike and yourself. After the weekend Michael was full of praise for the competitiveness of the bike and the great support that he had been given by Len Whalin throughout.
Here, in his own words: "I had the pleasure of riding the club bike at Oulton Park; the closest I'm going to get to feeling like a factory motorcycle racer! I was made to feel extremely welcome by everyone, from Len phoning me before the race weekend to discuss my experience and bike set up preferences, and looking after me all weekend, to the racers in the paddock who were so friendly and encouraging. After a day getting used to my first ride on a two stroke since hitching a lift on my Dad's race bike in the paddock 30 years ago I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of qualifying and racing the bike. It couldn't have been better set up and the overall experience was absolutely amazing. Thanks to everyone involved and for anyone thinking of giving it a go I would definitely say go for it, you won't regret it!"

Len was instantly enthusiastic, despite just about to send a rider out, he still spoke to me about the club bike and all the assistance I’d get and I left feeling like I could actually do this! So I signed up. A year later at the same meet, Snetterton, I was blessed with great weather but an even greater team.
I’d not ridden a two stroke since 1988 and I didn’t like the feisty little feckers then!, I was so nervous but Len and Pete were just so good, they sorted the bike, they sorted my head, they did everything, all I had to do was throw my leg over it and try and keep it pinned.
Despite me being at the back of the grid they made me feel like Rossi, I was always greeted with smiles and well dones when I came back in and the team support from the rest of the YPM riders was really great, it was the best weekend, I improved, we laughed A LOT!
