Yamagamma Stolen - Please keep your eyes open

Postby Tony » Sun Feb 07, 2010 1:03 pm

A good friend has had his Yamagamma stolen from his garage in Hastings. He is not sure when it went, but it was ok last weekend. SO only in the past few days. He built the whole thing from parts a couple of years ago and he put alot of time and love into it. He normally visits us at Brand's, so you may of seen it there. It is very unique and is in Lucky Stroke colours. Here is his post from another forum:

Don't know where to start really but my Yamagamma has been pinched from my locked garage in the Hastings / St Leonards on Sea area some time in the past couple of days. I can't say exactly when it went as I haven't been round there since last weekend but I discovered it this afternoon when I went to take the RSV-R out that is also in there. Confusingly, the RSV-R was still there untouched but the garage door handle had been forced and the hasp cropped. We found the intact padlock nearby. They have then cut through the cable lock that was round both bikes, and presumably wheeled/dragged the Yamagamma out of the garage past the RSV. I am both gutted as I built the bike from the ground up a couple of years ago but also relieved that the RSV was untouched. I'm also very puzzled as to why someone would take it. The bike is unique and very recognisable in both looks and sound. I know it inside out and would recognise almost any part from it as it had many non standard parts. However, someone knew it was there as they knew exactly which garage to go for. I haven't even ridden it since last October and the garage can't be seen from the road.

I have posted up a number of pics and some of the unique parts are as follows:

Based on 1986 RG250 MK3
Reg D29 UGK
Yamaha 350 YPVS motor (clear window clutch cover, Banshee oil pump cover)
Lomas pipes, Tyga cans
Home made 'right way up' gearchange linkage
KR1 carbs, TZR choke mechanism
KR1 throttle
Oval Ramair filters
Divvy forks
FZR400 83mm spacing 4 pot front calipers
GSXR yokes, 3MA clip ons, grey Renthal grips
Koso RX1N digital clocks with white face
4x17 Brembo rear wheel from SZR660
3x17 TZR250 3MA front wheel both powdercoated white almost unmarked
Modern shock (not sure if R1 or GSXR) with yellow spring and piggyback reservoir (as pic)
Recently powdercoated silver standard RG250 swingarm
Hand painted lucky strike paint job

If anyone sees any parts for sale, etc give me a shout. He knows this bike inside out, so would know anything from it.

If you can pass this on to anyone else you know we would be very grateful. THis bike means alot to him and would be great to get it back.

I know who's bike this is, really hope he gets it back

Odd they decided to leave the Prilla and take an instantly recognisable special :?:

I'll put the word around with the folks in the trade I know, hopefully somebody will hear or be offered it

Tony.

Gutted for your mate.

Don't want to sound paranoid but, that theft doesn't sound like yer normal carry on.

From what has been said here, it doesn't sound like the work of oppurtunistic tea leaves.

Your chum hasn't ridden it since October but, what people know where it is kept?

Has he shown it to people in his lock up?

Have they told others, even innocently, of this fantastic bike they've seen?

If it was me...I would have to ask some serious questions to those your mate knows.

My mind...is normally racing. But, I can't always vouch for that.
