That would be superb if he can make Snett - we'll have a space in the garage ready for him :)

Fantastic! Sorry I don't get on the forum as much as I should so only just read this about a month out of date. Will look forward to seeing Craig there. Does he like the sausage rolls in vindaloo or jalfrezi style???

Sorry Craig couldn't make it. A few things conspired against him, mainly his desire to launch himself out of his electric wheelchair (which he found hilarious)
We popped to see him on saturday when we left Snetterton as he only lives about twenty minutes away. He was on good form... So proud of him.

Hi everyone,

I just thought that I would provide an update on Craig as it’s been a while since anything was posted and I have recently been in touch with Becs.

Plus I also wanted to ask about fundraising this year as Dick has mentioned a barbering session (not a word I believe but sounds good :) ) and Trev mentioned a sweet sale again. If anyone else has any other ideas please post them up.

I was thinking that we could do something at Snett and maybe Brands GP; although I will check with BEMSEE in due course to make sure it’s ok before we plan anything definite so we don’t clash with anything else.

Becs had some positive news as she explained that Craig continues to make slow but steady progress. To quote from Becs "The focus at the moment is on encouraging him to be as independent as possible. The private physio is still working wonders. He recently walked 15m with a few little stops, but this is a major improvement. He walks with a claw footed walking stick and a strap system called a musmate which helps him to move his right side. His speech has improved slightly, but sadly speech therapy time is very limited and due to this we are looking in to private speech therapy. He attends Headway one morning a week where he paints, looks at motorbike clips on the internet and they are working on helping him to write. He is very interested in the computer and loves watching Oasis clips on you tube. He is still happy and kind natured and makes everyone in the home laugh continuously :D !"

Becs also says that the funds raised are really appreciated as they are now in bungalow and they are looking to buy a double bed so that Craig doesn't have to sleep in a separate room when he stays at home. He needs a specialist bed which raises and lowers and these are approx £2000. Plus the physio is privately funded and it looks speech therapy will also need to be funded privately so hopefully we will be able to raise enough to contribute towards some of this.

Last year we raised over £1,000 from various activities including the sweet sale, haircuts and donations from Blue Candy for each YPM T-Shirt sold as well as random donations to push it over the £1k mark. Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped raise those funds.

I know that the funds raised have made a real difference to Craig’s progress and it would be great if we could try and match what we raised last year.
